Size of Pump Motor:
Determining the right size of motor for your spa is crucial, but easily
determined. You should consider the horsepower of the motor that is
currently on your spa and replace it with a similar size if you are
happy with its operation.
As a general rule you should have 1 horsepower for every 4 to 6 standard
size jets (typically rule for 48-frame pumps). Over powering your jets
with too much horsepower could cause damage to your plumbing, damage
your equipment or inflict bodily injury, so it is important to get the
right size motor for your application.
Voltage requirements for sizes:
1.0 HP (110 Volt Only)
1.5 HP (110 Volt or 220 Volt)
2.0 HP (220 Volt Only)
3.0 HP (220 Volt Only)
4.0 HP (220 Volt Only)
NOTE: Motor labels may show the voltage rating as 115V or 230V. (115V =
110V, and 230V = 220V)
