JED 103 Corona Discharge Ozonator Kit

The JED 103 is our best selling ozonator as it manufactures ozone using the European method of an internal corona discharge chip. CD chip generation is preferred because it is proven to produce a consistent amount of ozone while the ultraviolet type units may lose effectiveness as the bulb gets weaker over time (especially when activated on/off many times throughout a day). Ultraviolet type units are recommended for continuous operation.

While the effectiveness may not be that significant and probably won’t affect water quality it is helpful to understand the differences. Both are outstanding units.

The JED 103 is rated at 20,000 hours of use, which is about 10 years of normal usage and can ozonate spas up to 1,000 gallons. Ozone output is up to 1 mg/hr. This is a very high quality unit for residential or commercial use.

The unit ships with back-flow valve, air tube, installation instructions, mounting screws and power cord. Standard is 110 volts with a J&J mini receptacle that fits all SpaGuts controllers. J&J is the industry standard ozone receptacle but it is also available with any other cord type or in 220 volt configuration for the same cost. If you are adding this to a spa that is not ozone ready, you’ll also need to buy either an ozone saddle clamp or an ozone inline bypass kit.

For spas that have a small circulation pump installed with 3/4 inch or 1/2 inch tube, you can install an ozone venturi injector.
