354. Support: Can I use my existing temperature sensor with the SpaGuts Electronic Controller?

We highly recommend NOT to use your existing temperature sensor with the SpaGuts Electronic Controller. Due to calibration settings, the existing temperature sensor may not be calibrated to work properly with our Spaguts Controller. All SpaGuts Controllers are calibrated to work with the temperature sensors provided. The calibration is fixed, and cannot be readjusted. To avoid any warranty issues, please use the temperature sensors provided. Installing an unapproved temperature sensor may lead to imporper operation. The spa may display incorrect temperature readout, the heater may overheat and cause a dry fire, the spa may display error codes, or an internal short circuit may occur. Even if the existing temperature sensor looks similar to the new termperature sensor and when installed is allowing the spa to work properly at the moment, the system may slowly break down sooner or later. To avoid any warranty issues, please use the temperature sensors provided. If your existing thermowell is foamed up or in a location where you cannot get to, install a new thermowell in the spa. There are other options where a temperature sensor can be installed. Contact tech support for those options.
