743. What is the purpose of the bathtub heater, and what is the minimum water temperature requirement prior to activating the bath heater?

The bath tub heater is meant to maintain the current water temperature in the bath tub. It is not meant to heat the water from cold to hot. The heater metal tube will only get as warm as the water passing through. Start with hot water to maintain that hot water temperature. Starting with cold water may not even allow the bath heater to heat up the water. *Recommended starting water temperature is 95 degress F, or the desired water temperature. The red or orange heater indicator light should light up which indicates that the heater is on. This will occur if there is strong water pressure from the jets, there is electricity to the bath heater, and the bath heater needs to maintain the water temperature. NOTE: At higher water temperatures (approximately from 97 to 104 degrees F) the Heater "ON" light may turn on for 3 minutes, turn off for 3 minutes, and continue this sequence to maintain that current water termperature. This is normal operation. Do not be surprised if the bath heater heats up the water higher than the current water temperature. This means the bath heater is doing more than it's supposed to. When troubleshooting, watch the heater for at least 6 to 12 minutes to verify if the heater ON light does come on with this sequence.
